AIC supports participants with training, education, job placement, and the tools to thrive at work. Explore the programs below and contact your nearest office for eligibility and enrollment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ages 14 and up — Provide ID to show age (Birth Certificate, Driver's License, State ID, School ID, Tribal ID).
  • Verification of Tribal Affiliation — (Federally recognized tribe) Enrollment letter/card, Letter from Agency, Tribal ID card.
  • Verification of Residence — Utility bill, cell phone bill, rent receipt, AFDC award letter, food stamp award letter.
  • Homeless — Those without proof of residence are eligible to apply.
  • Verification of Labor Force / Employment Status — Job service contract card, employment contacts, lay-off notice, termination notice.
  • Selective Service Registration (males 18–25) — US Military Card, Registration Acknowledgement, or DD-214.
  • Verification of Income (last 12 months) & family size — Pay stubs, W-2, Social Security Award Letter, Unemployment Card/Letter.

Education Assistance

(*Please note: in addition to earlier requirements, those interested in education assistance must also provide FAFSA/Pell award/denial letter, Tribal education award/denial letter, semester class schedule, total cost of tuition/books/fees, & previous semester grades)
GED / HSED Assistance

GED / HiSet Assistance

AIC will cover a portion of tuition and fees per semester for an individual’s tuition and fees not covered by FASFA, Tribal grant and/or other available grants/scholarships. GED/HiSet preparation and testing assistance. Book cost, if not paid for by grants may be paid by AIC over and above the cost of tuition and fees each semester.

High School Fee Assistance

Middle & High School Fee Assistance

* Tuition & Training: High school dues, high school dual-college credit tuition and vocational training tuition, computer insurance fee, activity pass, parking pass, required school uniforms, ACT/SAT testing fees.
* Extra-curricular Activities: Activity fees e.g., music/band, sports, club etc., equipment rentals, activity uniform, footwear, and annual sports physical.
* Certificate Incentives: 8th Grade and high school graduation certificate incentive, vocational training certificate incentive, and high school dual-college credit class grade incentive for college classes with a final semester grade of a C or above.

College Assistance

College And/Or Higher Education Tuition Assistance

AIC will cover a portion of tuition and fees per semester for an individual’s tuition and fees not covered by FASFA, Tribal grant and/or other available grants/scholarships. Book cost, if not paid for by grants may be paid by AIC over and above the cost of tuition and fees each semester. Collegiate graduation certificate incentive, and semester class grade incentive for classes with a grade of a C or above. Also available are class required clothing and/or tools.

Other Assistance

Assistance is also given for other forms of education and training, such as; apprenticeships, vocational education, and professional certificate training; AIC will cover a portion of tuition and fees per semester for an individual’s tuition and fees not covered by FASFA, Tribal grant and/or other available grants/scholarships. Tool cost, and book cost, if not paid for by grants may be paid by AIC over and above the cost of tuition and fees each semester. Graduation certificate incentive, and semester class grade incentive for classes with a grade of a C or above. Also available are class required clothing and/or tools.

Other Services

On-the-Job Training (OJT)

On-the-Job Training (OJT)

Individuals are referred to employers that have indicated a desire to custom train employees. The employer pays the individual’s wages and fringe benefits, and AIC will reimburse the employer up to ½ of the hourly wages for up to 500 hours of training. Also available are employer required work clothing and/or tools.

Registered Apprenticeships

Registered Apprenticeships

AIC focus is on employers that have Registered Apprenticeships programs. We feel these types of apprenticeship will best fit our participant’s training and employment goals. Registered Apprenticeships are innovative job-driven, work-based learning and post-secondary earn-and-learn models that meet national standards for registration. Registered Apprenticeships improves the skills of the American workforce and enhances the efficiency and productivity of American industries. In addition, Registered Apprenticeships provides opportunities for tax credits and employee tuition benefits.

Temporary Work Experience

Temporary Work Experience

Individuals may be placed at a non-for-profit or private sector temporary work site for up to two months and paid by AIC. These assignments assist participants with a limited work history to become accustomed to and to practice good work habits. Participants may be hired on with said work sites upon completion. Also available are employer required work clothing and/or tools.

Supportive Services

Supportive Services

Includes 30-day bus passes, eye exam, and eyeglasses. Individuals who obtained employment recently may be eligible for required work clothing and/or tools.

Service to Employers

Service to Employers

AIC builds strong relationships with employers and services that increase the ease in which an employer can train and/or hire AIC participants. Examples include the recruitment, assessment and referral of potential employees for in demand occupations with priority given to applicants who might be eligible or become eligible for program services; pre-employment training, customized training and credentialing, and on-the-job training; post-employment services, including training and supportive services to encourage job retention and upgrading; work experience employment slots for public or private sector worksites; information on availability and eligibility for any government or economic development hiring incentives or tax incentives. Provision of information regarding in-demand sectors, occupations, or non-traditional employment. Referrals for customized training opportunities for specific employers and/or industry sector needs.

Long-Term Partnerships

Long-Term Partnerships with Workforce Centers

AIC program offices are co-located with workforce partners. Our program participants can access and obtain additional core or intensive training services in one location through Workforce Center partners.
